Thats what it is.Cold motor,not started but white smoke,I dont think thats a lot to worry about yet.Lots of diesels smoke white until they warm up. Not having oil pressure is a worse thing.It might just be it hasnt got prime.But it might be that its not turning fast enough to pump a lot of oil?I dont know about that,but I think I would try and get some oil in the pump like through where you hooked the gauge. If you didnt move the timing and have fuel to the injectors it should run.You might want to check the part number on your pistons and see if thats the same as the ones you took out.Another thing is did you set the valves right?If the valves arent closing that could be the trouble.
