I would say that your assumption is correct that it's an F-30 because of the water pump. Also you should be able to look on the top of the frame rail on the manifold side between the clutch housing and the tranny for a stamped serial number. If it's an F-30 it will start with the letters "FB". Let me know what you find and I can tell you the year. They were designed to start on gas then be switched to kerosene as you said. Kerosene was much cheaper than gas in the 30s.
