SVO, or straight vegetable oil, is different from biodiesel. SVO has no "refinement" done to it, and no special equipment to handle it. All you need is a small hand pump to suck it out of the waste oil barrels at the restaurants, and 5 gallon containers to transport it in.
The vehicle is modified to include a heated (using engine coolant) tank to keep the oil at the right viscosity, and a way to switch from straight diesel to SVO. You can't leave the SVO in the lines or the injector pump, because it will gel up and make a mess!
Sooo, even though a 650 is gas-start, you will still need to have a way to switch to regular diesel at shutdown time before you switch to gas.
Biodiesel is treated chemically with lye and methanol to remove the glycerin, and can be dumped straight into the regular diesel tank.
Either fuel is BETTER for any diesel engine than dino diesel. Both have more lubricity, (they're "more slippery") which reduces wear and tear, makes the engine run smoother, etc..
