BACKGROUND: I have two (2)F12's and two (2)F-14's. I am in the process of restoring the second F-14. I had to purchase new universal joint bolts for one of the F-12's. I tried ordering new bolts for the F-14 I'm currently restoring. I'm being told by my supplier (Gordon Rice) these bolts are no longer available. His suggestion is to use the bolts for an H and use maybe two or three flat washers under the head of the bolt to take up the extra length of the bolts for the H. QUESTION(s): Has anyone else experienced this problem/fix and if so how did it work out? And BTW clearance for the longer bolt is not going to be a problem. (2)How much luck would I have in reinstalling the old bolts by turning them 180 degrees? I'm not using these tractors for pulling, just wanting to be "politically correct".
