I have a 1953 stage 1 Super H ser#18037 and I"m in the process of converting it to live hydraulics and need a little help to clear up some of the information I have read in the archives on this. 1. Being its a Super H I shouldn"t need to install the heavy duty timing gear for the 300 series pump I have right? 2.What is the best sump to use, the original belly pump, the rear end housing,or an external tank? 3.If its the rear end is the hydraulic oil heavy enough for the rear gearing? 4.Should the original belly pump be disconnected or removed? 5.I want to have 2 sets of hydraulics is there any other criterial for the spool valve besides open center and how many working ports? 6.Is there any heating issues to consider and should the system be filtered? Thanks for the help I appreciate the information I have gotten from this forum, and Its great to see all the interest in old iron. Steve C.
