Dear mike,
The others are correct in one way. The rusty units are ready to start the process of restoration.
yours appears done, but will be sure to standout like the mismatched clothing choices my wife points out that I try to wear.
To fix it--- Place the hood on a couple of 2X4s on a grass background. John Deere contrast. Do not say that it is ready for installation, use the following text (if it is true, if not modify it)

This is my extra H hood that I was intending to use when I began restoring my tractor. The hood is not a reproduction. It is unrusted and has no dents or repairs of any kind. The clips and springs are original and not worn or bent. It is a distillate (dual fuel) hood that is why it has the right side hole. It has tight paint on it that can be easily painted over with light surface prep for adhesion.

The original hood was found, and part of the ownership component, friendship I have with the original owner is to keep it as original as I can. The original will take more to prep for me, but it came on the tractor and feels correct.

That is what I would list! Good luck, it is definitely a bizarre place to try to predict outcomes. JimN

I have also restored and shown model F's, E 27N's, Field Marshall Series 2, David Brown Cropmasters and the old rey Fergeson T 20. At one time I had seven restored examples which were shown and used in ploughing matches. As most restorers, I have a number of war stories I can relate on a range of topics that may help other like minded and interested people. Perhaps my first p ... [Read Article]
