They also had the 6 cyl style carb bowl with the larger metering stem, 300-450 carbs are a multiple fuel circuit carb, which means, they have an extra fuel port, casted above the venturi. They deliver fuel as a helper,,, draws it from the bowl, and when the throttle postion is opened, this by passes the main jet,, and feeds it fuel,,, this sounds funny,,, but what happens is, it lets you keep the main jet smaller and yet, still deliver alot more fuel to the engine without making the carb bowl jet too large. Better running and starting. Ive seen Supers have the old throttle body like the M, and the new style bowl, (Super H) From the factory,,, I do have a carb off a SMTA,,, which is the old style M throttle body, and the 6 cyl bowl.
