Mike, Tire sizes have been an issue from day one of Harvy Firestone etal making them with air inside. Today's tractor tires are also a mess. Using partial old measures of inches in decimal to describe either the width of the tire tread (kind of) or the width of the body of the casing. In neither is the aspect ratio indicated, it is just up to the manufacturers to make it so. Front tires and wagon tires for AG are measured at the tread (usually) rears are now measured at the body of the tire. Even car tires are wierd. They use inch rim sizes, metric widths of the body, and aspect ratio ie: 50 60 70 80 these are a ratio of the width of the body compared to the height from bead to tread. 50 series tires are 1/2 as tall as wide from the tread to the bead. Then there are the off road sports tires measured in standing diameter as well as the other measurements. Oh well. JimN
