Ok. I've posted with what info I was given when I bought this thing and I'm afraid most of it was probaly wrong. I first posted asking about a 1951 Mccormick Deering W9. Here's what I actually have so far with me looking at it.
The nose emblem is metal and says McCormick Deering.
The side decals on the nose pieces say WD9.
The serial Plate under the fuel tank right side. (thanks for that tip. I'd never have found it.)says..
International on the top
Model says stamped in 650D
Serial says stamped in 4891 J.
Also has a hand clutch on the right side. I am under the impression that the 650D came along later than the WD9. Maybe the nose piece was changed or the engine changed and serial number plate. Or is there such a thing as the 650D WD9 ?
I read through your archives and got an excellent how to (Thanks Bob M) on starting this gas/diesel. One question though. While starting I have figured out to pull up on the left handle releasing compression and letting the gas flow and the starting valve open. Where does the right lever which is the throttle for diesel belong during starting. Down ? Up ?
It's spins over/ All the wiring is torn up. I hotwired to the coil ballast to get the primary circuit hot. It's popping but the spark is weak and two spark plugs are broke off. I'll start working on the primary ignition side first I guess.

Today's Featured Article - Box Plow Blues - by Tom Schwarz. One of the first implements most tractor owners obtain is the box plow. For very little money, this piece of equipment promises to plow and flatten any hill or vale on your ranch road or farm. At least that's what I thought! As simple as a box plow appears, it can be rather challenging to make work correctly. In our sandy soils of Florida, traction is king. You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U ... [Read Article]
