If only runs on full throttle and choke, there is a carb or intake leak. I can give you a word of advise on the forum since it seems you always get a lot of heat about things. I have seen 2 good snapper mowers totally ruined by 2 different kids here in town doing the same exact thing but 2 years apart. Hot rodding it. They were doing wheelies and overiding the throttles with the governors and seeing how fast they could get it to go. Both mowers ended up with BAD oil leaks in the engines and both of them threw rods.I cut grass for people here in town and ended up cutting thier yards because thier mowers were junk. Parents were pissed because they had to pay me AND get a new mower and didn"t have the money to do both. Kids being rough on machines is nothing new, heck, in the late 1940s my Dad and his friends (about 14 yrs old then)used to cut the bodies off on Model A fords and race them out in the pasture until Grandma saw one of them flip a car over and put a stop to it. I can hear the ford guys cringing now! He eventually became a great mechanic and had his own shop and yes he has a nice Model A Ford in the garage, but my point is most guys on here LIKE machines! and like them to run nice. They just hate to see things get trashed and they really don"t want to hear about it when it is done intentionally for kicks. One thing they would like to hear is you got that snapper running so good you cut "X" amount of acres in an hour with it and used only so much fuel. Anyway good luck with the mower.
