It should work but there are some areas of concern. The first thing is you would be adding belts and pulleys in the area where the operater sits so you would have to make sure that you had proper shielding to prevent injuries. The PTO runs at about 1/3 of the RPM of the engine so you would need a pulley three times as big on the PTO as you would on the crankshaft. You only have hydraulics when the clutch and PTO is engaged. It might work fine for your application but may not be so handy when you find something else you want to use with hydraulics. Something else to think about,your engine block should be able to accept a hydraulic pump so if you could find a pump and gear you could still fabricate your own reservoir and plumbing and have a much more user friendly system.
