Dear Board, A friend of mine has two beautifully restored F-20 tractors. They have new tires, new pistons, transmission overhauls, new radiator cores, and beautiful paint jobs. The only problem is they don't idle smoothly. At a show last summer an old man unloaded a rusty, scabby pitiful lookng old regular. I figured it wouldn't even run and felt sorry for the old fellow. Much to my surprise and the chagrin of my friend the tractor idled as smoothly as a bathtub. I have played with F-20 carburetors and magnetos but have never been able to acheve that beautiful, smooth idle. I am not old enough to know how these tractors ided when they were new. F-20 experts and owners please enlighten me.
