My C quit on me last night. I pulled the distributor cap off this morning and the blade from the rotor fell out on to the floor. The distributor shaft has about 1/16" to 1/8" play. I suspect this allowed the rotor to hit one of the towers in the distributor cap. Does this sound right? I suspect that I'm allowed 0 play in this shaft. Can I rebuild my distributor, new bushings, etc or am I looking at buying a new/rebuilt distributor? Hope your new year is starting out better than mine. Dave.
