Unfortunately, that serial number could indicate any of about two dozen different Farmalls. Is there any other identifying markings on the tractor? I'm not talking about casting numbers or part numbers. I'm talking about emblems or decals on the side of the hood, other information on the serial tag. Your life will be much easier if you know what tractor you have. As far as further advice, I suggest you visit your local library and check out a book on gasoline engines if you're not familiar with the whole, "suck, squeeze, bang, blow" and "air, fuel and fire, at the right time" stuff. Knowing the basics about how a gasoline engine runs will help you troubleshoot. It's not all that complicated.
