In answer to your question, they are pressed in for dry sleeves, with a lip at the top which the head gasket seals against. Wet sleeves have o-rings to seal the coolant. Farmall A, B, and C have wet sleeves. A sleeved farm engine is designed to allow on the farm full overhaul. All wear parts are replaced with no need for a machine shop.
