Hi Gary, When I purchased my 49 H, It had been sitting for quite a while. It had leaves in the gas tank, 3 different sizes of spark plugs, spark plug wires had been taped where they had cracked , ect ,ect. I cleaned the tank out, replaced the leaky fuel valve/ bowl assy, cleaned out the carb, put in a fresh set of D-21 champion plugs and installed a new set of NON- Resistor, copper core wires and man you would not believe the difference. This old tractor idles low and smooth, and all the way to full throttle it pulls hard and runs very smooth.Smokes a bit when you first hit the throttle but clears up quick. Who knows how long it has been since any maintenence has been done to your tractor, Take a little time to freshen up the basics, you may be pleasantly surprised as I was. Good luck.
