Shaggy,I had the same problem last week.On my truck I have 2 power sources1-At the fuse box,and the fuse was blowned.2-One wire goes from the battery I think to the brake controller than to the brakes ,this cable had crodded of of the battery,I replaced the fuse and the light would come on when I hooked the plug into the trailer,but it would not change to orange when i applied the brakes,untill I found the bad wire at the battery
