Brownie, It could use a clutch and the noise does sound like a bad throwout bearing, but doesn't change much when stepping on the clutch. I had sort of discounted that end while listening with the stethascope, as it is the loudest right on the oil pan. As you said though, noises do travel and I suppose the pan being thin, could magnify the sound, as opposed to listening through the side of the cast clutch housing. Thanks for the idea, Smiley
