I agree with old, the valve core is the likely culprit. Or you may have pinched the tube on installation. I would break it down first and check the tube. You may also have had something in the old tire that punctured the tube. Did you check the inside of the tire with a cotton glove? It will snag on little sharp places. I have used Slime, both in my pickup, tractor, and implement tires, especially baler tires. I think it works well but won't seal bead leaks on tubeless tires or folded places in tubes but it does wonders for thorns and stickers in bald tires. I've not experienced corrosion associated with it.
