The correct setting are on the points on a ford V8 is .017 and plugs on a dist with standard coil set up is .035 and on the timing it can be anywhere from TDC to +10 degrees with all vac.lines off and pluged at curb ideal and that can be depending on year again from 525 to 750 . now this is comming out of the back room with all the cobb webs from when i worked on fords but some things ya never forget.
