The correct setting are on the points on a ford V8 is .017 and plugs on a dist with standard coil set up is .035 and on the timing it can be anywhere from TDC to +10 degrees with all vac.lines off and pluged at curb ideal and that can be depending on year again from 525 to 750 . now this is comming out of the back room with all the cobb webs from when i worked on fords but some things ya never forget.

THere are a bunch of 351 engines Both Cleveland design, and Winsor Canadian Design. There are also a bunch of differing tuneup specs due to the farious states of tune, and the type of Ignition system it has. The best bet is to find out what it came out of, and if anything was changed that would affect the tuning. No direct answer here, sorry, JimN

Might make a difference of what year. Points should be good when you have 30 degrees dwell. Plug gap is .035.
