..a silent killer had me down on the ground behind my barn..its known as high blood pressure/stroke. I am indeed lucky that I have returned to my normal life. Today I cut hay at the farm, still have a field at another farm that I get the hay from. I am getting my energy back, still tire easily but generally getting stronger and feeling like myself. I want to use my experience to remind you all that strokes occur in people from 2 to 92 and no age is safe. If you don't know your blood pressure as you read my post you could be me..Please take the time tomorrow to get your blood pressure checked at the local pharmacy, the nurse at work, the local clinic, or make an appointment for a physical. The Stroke Clinic that is working with me proclaims that no one should have a stroke, all strokes are preventable, check your BP, cholestrol and watch your diet. Incidentally I have lost 10 pounds and it was easy, 10 more to to go, that 20 pound loss will reduce the chance of a second stroke by 30%, I eat just as much but smarter, eating more vegetables and fresh fruit, frozen yogurt instead of ice cream, less bread and greasy foods. I enjoy fruit juices instead of colas, and I drink more water. The cat likes frozen yogurt too! You folks all take care out there and stay safe my Tractor Neighbours..Mike in Exeter Ontario
