Chris - Sounds like either you have weak pumps or the steering pump relief valves are set too low (that may be the "squealing" you're hearing...). FWIW my SM has Charlynn power steering supplied by a priority valve off the live pump. It steers easier than my wife's car regardess of engine RPM, ground speed or load on the front wheels. Regarding wetness around the steering motor check the two motor hose manifold cap screws for tightness. They tend to work loose over time which results in seepage that appears to be coming out of the motor itself.
