You are right Cowman...that piece is aluminum, and 60% of that aluminum was gone by the time I acquired this particular tractor. And if that aluminum piece just sits in there, I would hate to see if it was "press fit". It wouldn't come out no way, no shape, no how without risking damage to the upper carb body...thus my decision to chuck it up and mill it smooth. At that point I had nothing to lose. I gotta tell you though, I spread 11 loads of manure out of a New Idea 219 spreader with the carb this way...and it ran like a champ the entire time...and it was right up to operating temperature. I just thought I would tag you guys for some input on it. I'm not picking on age, but you boys have been around the block a bit more than my meak 30 years. Thank you boys!
