Last night I ran to IH dealer after work and got all the parts. Mechanic said primary and secondary plates are good for long time. Also got epoxy from Walmart. Cleaned everything up and had assembly hanging on tractor by 8:00. First time I tried stacking plates and discs in outer housing as IT book says and almost impossible to get all splines to line up. Second time I stacked plates and discs on bull shaft and that makes it lot easier as only have weight of outer housing to raise up and put in place. The biggest problem is getting the dowl pins to line up as it is tight space and hard to see in there under cab. I never did get everything to line up and fit up nice and snug so I am all back on the floor right now. Gave up on it at 10:00! I sure wish I could get that piston housing to stay up tight against side of tractor. as it does not want to go that last 1/8 inch. Yes - all the shims are back on there that were there. Can't figure it! Any inside tricks other than determination and muscle?
