ET: No, your completely wrong on that statmemt. There may well have been jointers bolted to the frame as you claimed in a earlier post but jointers were never intended to do anything other than cut the left sod corner off the furrow being turned and bury it. Jointers are only useful in sod plowing, the rest of the time off they come. When it comes to trash like stover and straw, jointers got to come off as they only impeed the flow of this material. Yes manufacturers have tried to make trash cover blades, but the very best trash covering device is 4' chain hanging from your plow beam (one for each moldboard) and allowed to pull back under furrow. Even a 2x12 plow will plow down corn stalks using these chains.
