Thanks everyone for your help! I have a few more questions that hopefully you can help me with. First, let me tell you what I have done so far. I have removed the hydraulic pumps (the plate on the left side of the tractor) and the pump gear rotates freely. I can reach in the cavity and rotate the drive gear for the pump. Should I be able to do this? Unfortunately, I did not try the PTO before I drained the hydraulic fluid and removed the pump. Is it worthwhile now to put everything back together and see if the PTO works? Also, if the key is sheared, how big of a job is to replace that? It looks to be difficult to get to the pump drive gear. Finally, I have a service manual for the tractor, but it does not shed much light on the drive system for the hydraulic pump. Also, it says there are three pumps -- 2 located in the pump housing and 1 located in the IPTO housing. Is this true and where exactly is this third pump? Thanks, Don
