I'm thinking about buying an IH 650 Diesel. The guy tells me it won't start on gas right now. He has pull started it to get it running. He was going to restore it but could not get around to it. My question is whether or not you can damage a gas-start diesel by pull starting it? Am I looking for trouble? I don't want to give him top dollar for something that I would later find out is a big expensive mess to fix. On the other hand, I hate to take a pass on a hard-to-find tractor like this. I am a letter and number series guy but don't have a whole lot of experience with wheatland diesels, but am willing to learn.
