The first is diagnosis, the second is advice. If the oil pressure was in the 10 at speed range pull the pan and see what is happening with bearing clearance. If more, I would see if I could start it. (check fluids etc). A moving engine is easier to repair than it is stuck. The rebuild can be done (except crank grind) in frame. However if you want the best, pull it down, split it put in a complete kit, oilpump parts, and have the block/head cleaned and magnafluxed for cracks. Do the valves and put PC valve seals in it. They are very servacable units, handy as belt tool, and will be good for another fifty years. Put in a new clutch, and a sprague in the TA while you are in there. JimN
