Another way to find TDC on NO1 piston is once you feel compression is to drop a big handled screwdriver into the cylinder. When the screwdriver quits rising your No1 piston should be at TDC. Your rotor should be pointing to No1 position in the distributor too. You want the handle big enough so it doesn't drop into the cylinder. I would mark the damper pulley with some white paint and then use your timing light. I have the inductive type that you just fasten the plug lead over No1 plug wire. You can use another battery if you need 12 volts or another vehicle to hook to that battery that has 12 volts. Hal
