Quoting the SA manual: "The timing pointer can be seen by removing the hand hole cover in the bottom of the clutch housing." It further says to turn the flywheel until "DC 1-4" lines up with the pointer (on the housing). Timing is set to TDC with #1 cyl on compression stroke (use finger on #1 spark plug hole to feel compression). Don't forget to FIRST set the point gap to 0.020" (per manual) with the points rubbing block on the cam high point before timing is set. Have fun...
