Yes, be sure to register on the Cub board - they will give you a lot of good information. The Cubs are great little tractors and, while I'm not sure why R-cubed is having power problems, these tractors are geared to be real work horses in the field. I use my '57 Cub more than any tractor I own (I also have a Farmall Super A and an H) and I've not found it to be unstable, or at least not more so than other higher clearance tractors. You can also get great advice on this topic from the Cub guys. The fixes you describe, are common to older Cubs and not too hard or expensive to correct. The PTO fix is usually an inexpensive fix and there is an article on the Cub board about it. Keep the Cub, once you learn a bit about it and work on it, you'll be glad you did.
