My 756 is very sensitive to cranking speed to. A german with the bosch pump has to have a certain cranking rpm to gererate high enough pump pressure to start. I just got it last spring and have been working on it when I have time. The two 6 volt's on it are in need of replacement. When I put the charger on them for a hour she will turn fast and fire right up. But if I shut it off before it warms up it will turn slow and will not start until I recharge the battterys. You got to keep in mind of the german's hatred of cold weather but with a shot of either and recharged batterys mine will start at 20. Go thru your electrical system from battery to starter. Check all cables and connections with an ohmmeter. Like others have said check the grounding bolts even the starter mounting surface for corrosion. Have that starter retested or try a differant one. Have your batterys load tested to. My 6's are going to be replaced with 12's and all new cables, mainly to get the increased cranking amps in cold weather. As for the battery cables my local NAPA makes up cables with the conecters and gauge you need. If all of this fails and you still feel you have to get rid of it let me know, it would look good sitting next to the 756.
