Randy, I've never replaced a front oil seal on any Farmall so can't give you specifics. I looked at the "exploded views" in my M Service Manual and it appears it can be replaced from the front of the tractor with the engine still installed. The manual shows a recess for the seal which is accessible from the front. You will have to remove the crankshaft pulley as it fits back behind it. The "exploded view" in the M parts catalog shows it installs in the front engine cover. Can't really tell if the cover has to be removed in order to remove the old seal or not. Worst case would be having to remove the engine cover along with whatever else is up front to obtain working space. My guess it would then have to be pressed out of the cover and the new one pressed in from the front and the cover reinstalled on the engine. Someone on this forum has done this before and maybe just start a new post on front engine oil crankshaft seal replacement. The part no. of the seal in my parts catalog is 53872D for s/n's from FBKM 5205 and up.
I don't know if you will need to remove the radiator or not but if you do this will be the time to take care of any leaks or steering problems with sector gear, bearings, bushings and seals in the steering worm gear housing and upper bolster.
