This is a tale of my missing 400. In July I had been parking my 400 in the middle of my hay field. My land is about 30 mi north of me, so trucking her back and forth is not a good option.
I had met the neighbor accross the rd a few times wile I had been baling. He seemed like a nice fellow. We had talked about me doing some of his hay and he also offered to let me park my equipment in his yard so as to not be so unsecured. Nice gesture I thought. SO the last time I was up there I parked my 400 right next to one of his out buildings. The rest of my junk I left on my side of the rd.

Ok so now you have the set up.

Saturday before last I take a run up to grab my Trailer as I need to run to Wisc and pick up a new plow for my 400. When I get there I take a look on his place to see if my 400 is safe and sound.
I cant see it!!!! I drive in thinking maybe he put it in one of his out buildings with his tractors.
I notice that the locks and shackles on all the buildings had been knocked off. Oh Oh I think this is not looking good.
I open the shed and every thing is gone. I mean every thing. All his tools , welders. All his tractors and he had 5 of them. All his 4 wheelers. And of course my 400 was gone.
Cleaned out!
He lives in Bloomington so I figured some one pulled up with a big trailer and gutted the place.

I grab my trailer that is still safe and sound accross the rd on my place and drive home. Feeling kind of depressed to say the least.

When I get home I call one of the Neighbors up there, figuring no ones going to get a couple of semi loads of tractors out of there with out some one seeing it.

I get a hold of Jim and ask him if he had seen or heard of any thing going on at Guys place as I think he had been robbed and my 400 was also missing.

Jim says " I thought that was your 400 the Feds were hauling out of there." HUH??????

Come to find out this guy was some kind of big drug dealer. My 400 has been impounded because it was on his property and in the process of being forfeted with his stuff.

To make a long story a little less long. After a week or so of tracking down info and talking to a bunch of FBI, DEA, Police and county people.

I have found my tractor!!!
Its in a DEA impound lot down in the cities.
I have a few more hoops to jump through and some more red tape to cut. They need to get some one in Washington to say its ok to release my tractor.
Then I can go get her.
WHEW what a mess. But at least my 400 is not been chopped for parts.
