Randy, I have a 1951 M with a Heisler 9 speed aux. transmission. I recall from some old sales info. I saw that Heisler was located in Newton, Iowa. Heisler has been out of business for years but like M&W made a lot of aftermarket items for the larger letter series Farmalls. Like the M&W 9 speed it adds four additional speed ranges between the standard 4th and 5th. I believe the M&W has an engagement knob with a cable to something in the transmission. On the Heisler there is an additional lever to the left and forward of the standard shift lever which provides engagement input to the transmission through rigid linkage. My Heisler also has an additional control rod to disengage the belly pump when in high range as to not overspeed the pump. Hope this helps and the 9 speed is really a very nice aftermarket option.
