I would bring No1 piston up the compression stroke to TDC. You need to remove No1 plug near the radiator and feel for compression against your thumb as someone handcranks the engine. Stop cranking when piston is at TDC and the timing mark is aligned with the pointer. Check the rotor to see where it is pointing on the cap. It should be at No1 plug wire in the cap. If this appears ok you should check the point gap and clean the points. Gap is probably .020". After this, check for fire at your sparkplugs when cranking the engine with the ignition switch on and using the starter. No fire I would replace the points and condenser and try again & check for fire. I would drain the old gas and put in fresh gas too. Still no fire I would buy a new coil. Hal PS: Check for battery voltage at your coil with ignition switch on with a lite or volt meter.
