JD: Save yourself a bit of grief, drain all the oil, put grease zerks in the drain and oil level check ports. Take out top fill plug and pump in grease until it appears at top fill hole. At this point you know gear box is completely full of grease. After that, any grease you add goes directly to worm and gear. I have one that has been full of grease for 10 years now, and a second tractor this is going to happen to shortly. It works and works well, no more mess on steering box.
