Thanks Dave. You are the support we were hoping to find. Of course, a little sarcasm sometimes lights fires. It certainly doesn't dim our enthusiasm! I had pretty well determined it as a 1942 Farmall but was hoping to surprise my other half with a lot of info when he comes in from the peanut plant where he works to support our "bad" habits. Spent most of day yesterday perusing this site. Already know much more than we did two weeks ago when we were offered the tractors. In fact, they were given to us originally but we didn't feel right in just taking them so we offered to pay for them. Even then the price he would take was next to free! We have been tractor lovers for several years. Visiting shows, tractor pulls (that is my love), etc. Until we retired we have not had the time or a reason to consider restoring another truck or tractor. If we hadn't needed a tractor for our gardens we would not have stumbled into this seemingly windfall. Though we are excited about the restoration our main goal is for it to plow our gardens. In the area we have settled in tractors are, even the little riding lawn mowers, right next to heaven. Don't know whether we will get that far as we really saw a potential for a workable machine.
