I was thinking of looking at some 263 combine engines. I understand that these are the same motors that are in a 560 and a 706. They are sleeveless though. Can get one pretty cheap like $550 or so. If thats cheap might not be for all I know. Salvage yard says that they dont know the condition of these before they get them but that these motors dont have the wear as a tractor motor. Ok? I dont know that. He said that if I get a bad one they will replace the motor. Not my labor, fluids ect. I would have to bring it back. OK? Normal? Is there a way to check the compresion of a motor out side the machine? I was thinking about a stater motor attached while on a hoist to check it out. I dont know just thinking about it.
