350 Rear Axle Seal

Just developed an oil leak around the right rear axle on my 350 standard (gas). I checked my manuals and haven"t found anything that tells how much of a "task" this would be to fix. It looks like I can remove a couple of bolts and a plate to get to the culprit - anyone have any experience with this? Would I have to take off the rear tire to make this happen? Thanks in advance
