350 Rear Axle Seal

Just developed an oil leak around the right rear axle on my 350 standard (gas). I checked my manuals and haven"t found anything that tells how much of a "task" this would be to fix. It looks like I can remove a couple of bolts and a plate to get to the culprit - anyone have any experience with this? Would I have to take off the rear tire to make this happen?

Thanks in advance

I assume that a 350 is the same as an H or M to change the seal. All you need to do is jack up the tractor just high enough for the wheel to clear the ground. Park the tractor next to a post on level ground or inside a garage so the wheel can be leaned up against it without tipping over as the wheel and tire are heavy (especially if you have fluid in the tires). Once you have the wheel off the seal is easy to change. Roger

I think you would have to pull the wheel if the axle goes through the seal. Hal

Thanks for the information - I was afraid of that...
