You have to adjust the pulley itself. Loosen the set screw lock nut on the outer pulley half & turn the set screw out (it lines up with one of several grooves on the pulley shaft). Hold the inside pulley half and rotate the outer pulley half to reduce the space between them. It will not be easy if the pulley has not been adjusted for a few years. It may help to take the generator off the tractor and use your shop vise to hold one of the pulley halves.
