Jesse, A Hitachi #14231 is the alternator to use. It is about an inch smaller in diameter then a Delco 10-SI and you need every bit of room you can get under the hood on the H which will be tight. I turned my existing generator bracket upside down which allowed me to retain the existing generator belt with my alternator. The alternator cost right at $50 plus a $10 core charge. I got mine at O'Reilly's Auto Parts but they are available at NAPA and other auto parts stores as well. It is an alternator used on a 1978-1980 Nissan 620 or 720 pickup with a 2 liter engine. It is a 3 wire alternator with a built in regulator and was very easy to wire in using Bob Mehville's wiring diagrams here on this site. My alternator terminals were labeled "L" and "S". "L" is same as 1 in Bob's diagram and the "S" is the same as 2. You will need to install a washer between the pulley halves for the wider IH generator belt. It works very well and starts charging when the engine is started. I also used a Radio Shack 10 watt/10 ohm resistor in place of the light shown in Bob's diagrams as I had trouble locating the noted light and holder. You will have enough room to adjust the belt tension a little bit since turning the generator bracket upside down moves the alternator upwards about an inch which takes out most of the slack.
