Darren, Some things come to mind in regards to your wanting to mount a 2000 loader on your 656. First , is your tractor the International (utility style ) or the Farmall (row crop style )? There is a big difference in the front mounting brackets used on the International as compared to the Farmall.You will need to have the proper brackets.
Second, What tractor had the loader previously been mounted on? There is a difference in the rear axle attachment of the loader sub-frame for various models . You mention U-bolts not being with the loader. Large U-bolts are used when mounting on 706, 856, etc. These tractors have a hexagonal shaped rear axle housing and the rear of the sub-frame is made differently from a sub-frame that fits on a square rear axle housing as found on 656, 504 and others. Also the sub-frame for a loader on a 06, 56 series tractor is longer than what is used on a 656. It would require that the sub-frame be shortened by the proper amount and the correct axle mounting be fabricated if you are going to mount a loader from 06 , 56 series onto a 656.
Third, Does your tractor have two auxiliary hydraulic valves? If so , no problem, use the tractor valves for operation of loader. If only one, then you will need to get a two spool loader control valve ( available from any hydraulics supplier) and run lines from your tractor outlets to the new two spool valve and use the two spool for the loader and bucket controls.
