demonstrator farmalls

i recently purchased a c farmall serial no. 48875..and it has white paint under the red paint..i have asked a few people and was told that if a true demo tractor it would have the letter d in the serial no. but others say they were painted that way at the dealership so there is no way to prove it is or isnt?..can any of you shed some light on this for me pls...also how much more would it be worth if it is a demo?..tires and rims like new sheet metal straight and engine loose but not running as of yet it has n/f also..thanks in advance for your advice
