I put some Champion D-21 plugs in it last weekend. It has been gas fouling the plugs for several years now. It really poured out black smoke and would foul the plugs after running about 2 hours (or less). The plugs would be fouled to the point that it had no power and the plug wires had to be dangled loosely on the plugs so that the spark would jump and fire. This had been going on for at least 6-7 years. It would really go through the gas. We had been running D-18s in it and would change them out continually. I think the plugs are okay now as they are new. At idle, it sounds really good and no smoke. Something doesn't work right though when it idles up. When the linkage opens the upper butterfly valve is when it cuts out and dies. Not sure I exactly understand how it is supposed to work when the linkage is accelerated or advanced. In the governor, things seem fairly loose or worn, but it does rotate the tang on the valve okay. This is my neighbors tractor and it hasn't had much work on it through the years. He bought it new and he turns 90 this fall, so he has had it a long time. I'd like to get it kind of ironed out because he uses it quite a bit.

He wanted to get the rest of his corn in by the next day (Christmas Eve). We had about an inch of new snow on the ground and single digit temperatures. So in the bac
