Rusty: You know better than that, any engine that will bolt up to 300, 350, 460 and 504 rear chassis will bolt to all of them. For front of engine mounts doner should be from Farmall or Utility which ever you a installing engine in. He will need some modificatoin on shroud, radiator hook up, breather and possibly front engine mount, (Farmall only for front engine mount) but all quite minor. To the question why would one knock 350 on head, I think someone else did that. Larry is wanting to buy an engine for his 504. I earlier advised him to go 300 or 350 engines, 504 diesel and he might even investigate 239 fron a 544. Anyhow, I would take rear chassis of 504 over the rest, you come up with modern day type tractor with factory 3 point, much better hydraulics than 300, 350 or 460. 460 engine is out due to length. I based my advice on fact that if Larry is going to spend cash on 504 he may as well go to a sleeved engine, gas would be good, diesl even better.
