Another point that may be of interest is how the easyout is rotated. If a cresent wrench is used there will be unequal force applied to the easyout. Use a tap handle that allows two hands. One on each side. As noted before, a feel is important. The hole should be drilled in the center of the bolt. Grind the end until flat and center punch before drilling. Use a transfer punch if the bolt is broken below the surface. If it is a large bolt, use a large drill and easyout.
