Hi Dan, Just my 2¢. Harmonic distortion occurs at roughly 1500 rpm. The Harmonic balancer is designed to even this lengthwise distortion of the crankshaft out to an acceptable level. If you don't feel any vibration at this speed range, I'd bet that the dampener is just fine. And, believe me, if there is something wrong with that balancer, you'll know it. It will shake the hat off your head. Allan
